I didn't purposefully plan on stripes every year, but it seems that has always been the only outfit I've had with red in it for Christmas colors. He wasn't a big fan the 2nd year - he was ready to bolt and thankfully they snapped one before he started screaming, so maybe Adaiah will warm up a little next year :)
Mamatoto is Swahili for motherbaby, signifying that mother and baby are one. I am a home-birthing, responsive breastfeeding, baby-wearing, co-sleeping, cloth diapering, infant potty training, baby-led weaning, non-vaccinating, single mom to a baby boy born in summer 2008. I strongly believe that God calls mothers to take responsibility for raising their children and to be mothers all day, every day. After my baby's birth, I quit my job in Washington, DC, and moved to Colorado in hopes of building up a more stable support network and starting my own business where I can have my baby with me 24/7. I felt this was the best opportunity for me to put into practice Deuteronomy 6:6-7, "These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up."
Very cute, he likes Santa a lot more than Adaiah does! Do you put him in stripes every year on purpose? Cute!
